RPS Presentation

As I drew my thumbnail sketches, I started to like the idea of having one large space in the middle filled with one or multiple graphics. I felt as if it game the presentations somewhat of a focal point where everything pointed to the center. I also played around a bit with using a landscape orientation for the canvas. I didn't have a scanner available to me, so I just took a picture with my camera and used that.

When searching for pictures, I looked for diagrams or visuals that showed what the individual hand gestures looked like and also showed the order of who wins in certain situations. While the circular graphics have a nice aesthetic and are quite simple to understand, I liked the appeal of the real pictures depicting the result of all possible matchups.

What I ended up going with was a design that put all focus one one central graphic and putting the intro and rules at the far top and bottom of the canvas. I put some little star graphics in the corners just to spruce things up a bit and add some life to it.

  1. I like the second thumbnail sketch because it's not too much but the border makes it just enough and make it interesting yet getting the point across. It also wont take away from the meaning too much.

  2. i enjoy the various borders that you drew in your thumbnails. They add a simple touch of flair that can also be colorful, making the poster pop out more. Thumbnail 2 in particular is a favorite of mine.

  3. It seemed like you were pretty set on a landscape template but you didn't go for it which was kinda interesting . I really liked the realistic picture that simply explains the main rules for the game. I also like the stars but they are a little off centered.

Seriously though I'm not a big fan of landscape design but this is pretty well done. Also the borders on number 2 are my favorite and could definitely be utilized to make an interesting design.

  6. I really like the human hands portraying the game on the poster themselves. It really gives viewers THAT visual representation with realism and its clear. I think the green check marks and red X's add a sort of game aspect to the poster. Overall well done.

  7. I agree with Alex, the poster really hits straight to the point. The Horizontal symmetry is really nice as well, and makes the poster uniform and organized.

  8. Definitely add more color. The brightness from the hands, red x's and green check marks doesn't mesh well with the all black/grey stars and titles. I feel like giving them color would blend everything together a lot smoother.

  9. if you are going with color, the more color the better. the design youve gone with works really well as long as it feel filled in the finished product.

  11. The second test drive is better than the first, though I would think about the images used to display the rules.
